The cause of acne

Do you suffer from acne and breakouts? Then you’re not alone. Acne is a common skin condition that affects many people around the world. The prevalence of acne can vary significantly depending on age, gender, geographical location and genetic factors. Generally speaking, it is most prevalent during the teenage years, but it can also affect adults.

Around 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 24 suffer from acne at some point and around 40-50% of adults aged 20-40 suffer from acne in some form.

At Osmosis, we see the skin as a detox organ for the body. Breakouts and acne are often caused by the body’s secretion of overproduction and build-up from within. It can be Candida overgrowth in the intestinal tract, caused by sugar and alcohol intake, or Mucus, mucus, caused by high intake of dairy products. It can also be caused by hormones and stress. We call this Digestive Acne.
